You don't have to make an appointment at our funeral homes. However, doing so will ensure that someone can be available to cater to your needs. When arranging a funeral, our Funeral Directors are happy to visit you in your own home, if required.

Third party funeral costs are additional charges which we will manage for you and attach to your single invoice. Get in touch with us to confirm costs and plan a funeral to fit your budget.

From 9 September 2024, there will no longer be a doctor's fee in England and Wales when arranging a funeral. This is because from this date, all deaths in England and Wales will be independently viewed, either by a relevant coroner or by a Medical Examiner and the cost will be met by the NHS.

A Medical Examiner is a specifically trained independent senior doctor who will scrutinise all deaths across a local area that do not fall under the coroner's jurisdiction. By providing a greater level of scrutiny over the cause of deaths; it is hoped that the introduction of Medical Examiners will make it less likely that unnatural causes of death will go unnoticed; that the number of deaths unnecessarily referred to the coroner will be reduced and that national data about causes of death will be captured with greater accuracy.

Medical Examiners, or Medical Examiner Officers, will also be available to meet with families, or their representatives, if they wish to discuss the cause of death.

Many years ago our mum set up a funeral plan at Nodes.Sadly the time arrived to use the help of funeral directors. We first met Samantha Jane Streete Porter, who listened to our wishes,Samantha set us at ease in the early meeting. She covered everything, and even gave us advice on information outside their remit, which was very helpful. In this day and age,one becomes quite cynical in dealing with companies/authorities,but right from the off Samantha guided us through,at times, a daunting task for family members to understand, and put us at ease.Attention to detail from start to finish was second to none. Our mum looked wonderful when we visited the chapel.Any queries or further information was acted on in a timely manner, either by phone/email.The day of saying goodbye to Mum was emotional and sad,but the team led by Neil, were impeccable.Upon reflection I personally feel that mum had a great 'send off',and although we are gonna miss our mum,we feel more comfortable on how the day turned out.In my opinion,Nodes are number one,and wouldn't hesitate in recommending them if you are in need funeral services.

Samantha Jane was my first person of contact, a good listener calm patient also a perfectionist which eased the pressure. BIG THANK YOU to ALL DIGNITY STAFF that were in involved with my mum's funeral Caroline, Lindsay Jason limousine drivers coachman beautiful horses florist you all live up to the name DIGNITY and made a difficult day go as SMOOTH as SILK ♥️🙏⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐THANK YOU

DO NOT USE THIS FUNERAL DIRECTORS. Absolutely appalling after care. Our loved one was cremated 20th Dec 2024 same day as the service. 3 months later after numerous calls asking where the ashes were and being told they weren't sure, they thought they were still at the crematorium but couldn't confirm even though they should have collected and notified our family. ABSOLUTELY NO CARE GIVEN AS TO WHERE THE ASHES WERE. Once it's all been paid, there is no empathy for the family or care for the deceased. Our loved one was left on a shelf for 3 months!!!! We were calling and asking and getting passed about. Absolutely disgusting. This has caused absolute distress to my family. Disgusting. Nodes you should be ashamed.

Rude staff knowing people are grieving use another company totally disrespectful also beware if another member of the family turns up before you with the death certificate you are not the client even though they are you mum and they have paid for their own funeral you will have no say in the funeral

And not know where your beloved family member is totally disrespectful in my opinion
